    Specific industrial applications (in the pharmaceutical, cosmetic, aseptic packaging fields) and other processes (foodstuff, bio-technology, chemical fields) utilise totally sterile compressed air; in other words air that is free from bacteria, fungi and viruses. The filters of the FST series connected downstream from a system that supplies air free from humidity, dust and oil, sterilise the compressed air by 99.999% with an absolute filtration level of 0.01 µm. The filtering element is made of borosilicate, which is a biologically and chemically inert product, with a void fraction of 95% that ensures low pressure dropping and high filtering power even for large amounts of strongly contaminated air. The cartridge must be sterilised on a periodic basis: in a surge tank at 125°C for 30 minutes or with saturated steam directly in the line at 121°C for 30 minutes. The filtering element is guaranteed for 100 sterilisation cycles without compromising its integrity in any way whatsoever. The containers are made 100% of stainless steel and the gaskets are made of EPDM to guarantee a perfect seal and a high thermal resistance of up to 200°C.
